Over the years, I’ve received a number of medical diagnoses. Here are the ones that have stuck:
Myofascial Pain Syndrome (2007)
Diabetes Type 2 (July 2011)
Fibromyalgia (April 2013)
Phx Thyroid Cancer (May 2012 dx, June 2012 surg., Sept 2012 radioactive iodine tx)
Cervical Degeneration w/ neuropathy (August 2013)
Carpal Tunnel syndrome (Sept 2013)
In conjunction with the diagnoses are always prescriptions of medications to try. My latest list )including supplements, vitamins, and occasional or PRN [as needed] medications) hovers around twenty.
In January 2015, the decision was made to go onto Long Term Disability (LTD). Step one is using all your paid sick time. Step two is going onto Employment Insurance (EI) Sick Leave and applying for LTD via my employer’s insurance company. Step three is either approval for LTD or appealing the denial.
I’m in step two now. The LTD applications have been submitted and EI payments have started coming in. Now it’s just to wait and see if my application will be approved or denied.
